Important notes:

•  Dresses - stick to above-the-knee, knee-length, tea-length or midi-length. The event will be held outdoors and you won't want your dress dragging on the ground.
•  Dancing Shoes - wear block heels, wedges, booties, boots or flat dress shoes. (No stilettos!) The ground is uneven with a mix of light dirt & gravel, and grass areas. There is a possibility that your feet/shoes will get dusty (something to consider when choosing open vs. closed toe and type of material).
•  Weather (PT 1) - typically, our wedding date has moderately warm temps in Austin. We'll be embracing the bright colors and garden party elements, so don't shy away from spring & summer palettes and patterns.

•  Weather (PT 2) - the average high is 74°F and average low is 50°F. Sandy is always cold. If you're like Sandy, we recommend bringing an extra layer for the evening.

•  Theme - have fun with it and show your personality...or don't! We appreciate a risk, but know it's not for everyone. The venue is casual, rustic and outdoors, so wear anything semi-formal that is most comfortable for you.

*If you'd like to bring a jacket and/or more comfortable shoes for later in the night, feel free! We'll have space to store them until you need them.

Nestled 30 minutes west of downtown Austin, Star Hill Ranch is a one-of-a-kind, old town main street film‑set & venue. The owners have built a reimagined early-1900s Texas Hill Country village from carefully relocated and lovingly restored historic buildings. It features a chapel, schoolhouse, barn and saloon - basically a whole mini-town to ourselves!

Weather permitting, all events will be hosted outdoors in Main Street Plaza: the dirt-road "town center"—ceremony, cocktails, dinner, dancing... everything under the string‑lit Texas sky.

what kind of transportation will be available? parking?

Shuttles: We will be running 2 shuttles for our hotel guests to and from the venue and room block hotel (Sonesta Bee Cave). The trip is less than 15 minutes each way.

Parking: There is ample parking in a large lot at the venue. We are also permitted to leave cars overnight.

Ride Shares: If you are staying downtown/anywhere other than the hotel, Ubers and Lyfts should be easy to book for drop off at the venue. (Keep in mind rush hour traffic on a Friday afternoon!)

If you are staying late into the evening (we hope so!), please note that we are out in the hills and you may need to wait more than a few minutes for your ride to get to the venue. You can also schedule your pick-up in advance.

Dinner - The main meal will be provided by Micklethwait Barbecue (https://craftmeatsaustin.com/)in a station/buffet format with a combination of meats and sides. They do have vegan and vegetarian options, so please indicate if that's your preferred meal when submitting your RSVP.

Drinks - Nick's got you covered. Enjoy our open bar with a curated selection of beer, wine, specialty cocktails and refreshments.

Thursday, 11/6  •  Welcome Party - Join us for light bites and refreshments on the Sonesta rooftop! Mix and mingle with our friends and family from all over the country while you take in a sunset view of Austin's hill country.

are kids invited?

Sadly, no. We are fortunate to have so many beautiful little ones in our family and friend circle, however, we can't reasonably accommodate all of them at the wedding. The invitations are limited to adults and our nieces and nephews.
